OLW 76: Color in Winter
This Wednesday's challenge over at Simplicity's blog was to create a single layer, grey and white card with a pop of color. Some weeks when I read the new challenge I know exactly what I want to do (now whether it actually happens is another thing!), and some weeks I am lost in the weeds. This was one of those weeks. But, yesterday as I was rummaging around my flower drawers (stamp drawers!) I saw this awesome Penny Black image and immediately thought of masking out a portion of it to nestle in a sentiment. Sentiment by Saavy. Made the oval mask with a SU oval punch. Had the card done in 15 minutes. Taking a picture has taken much longer. It is cloudy and dreary here today and 4 Ott lights just aren't doin' it for me! Sorry for the poor quality image.

Hi Carol, Well that works for me, it's a stunner, 4 OTT lights? Woah that should have done it, must be very dark with you:{ Gay xx
Carol, this is so soft and pretty! Love the pop of color, such a nice touch!
This is so elegant Carol! I love the little pop of color with the rhinestones.
I love the way you nestled the sentiment in the design, Carol! Very classy.
a lovely elegant card
Lovely card Carol. Like how you used the oval to mask an area for your sentiment. Wouldn't of thought of that.
That's a gorgeous stamp Carol and I love how you've added the pop of colour :)
These winter days are not good for photos...even with the right lights!

Thank you for such lovely comments, you are kind, have a great weekend, Gay x
What a beautiful soft card and I actually like the soft and dreamy atmosphere of your photograph!
Another lovely card. I like your idea of masking the stamp to make a place for the words. Never thought of that . Such a clever idea.
Hugs
Lovely card, well done.
